W sierpniu, w gdańskim więzieniu wolontariusze z Węgier, Rumunii, Austrii, Hiszpanii i Włoch prowadzili zajęcia dla skazanych. Poprzez formy teatralne i prace plastyczne uczyli wyrażać swoje uczucia, odkrywać w sobie to, czego przebywający w izolacji nie chcieli odkrywać wcześniej. Dzięki temu uczestnicy przekonali się, że mogą być ludźmi twórczymi, pozytywnie zaangażowanymi, że potrafią ciekawie spędzać czas wolny.

Wolontariusze Fundacji „Sprawni Inaczej” prowadzili ze skazanymi zajęcia plastyczne oraz teatralne realizując projekt pt. „Wakacyjna Wytwórnia Aktywności (Wu-WU-Aaa!). Jest to efekt współpracy Zakładu Karnego w Gdańsku z Fundacją „Sprawni Inaczej”.

– Przez te prawie 2 lata przewinęło się już 12 panów. Burzą, porządkują teren, ale i budują, cekolują, malują, kafelkują – czyli wykonują wszystkie prace remontowe i budowlane – mówi Joanna Kania z Centrum Integracji i Edukacji Fundacji. – To między innymi dzięki ich umiejętnościom i zaangażowaniu ten budynek, to miejsce, spełnia swoją rolę. Mogą się tu odbywać różnego rodzaju warsztaty dla osób niepełnosprawnych. Mogą również mieć miejsce zajęcia organizowane specjalnie dla dzieci z gdańskiej dzielnicy Brzeźno. Mają gdzie mieszkać wolontariusze z różnych krajów świata, którzy przyjeżdżają u nas pracować w ramach Wolontariatu Europejskiego (EVS – European Voluntary Service).

Aktualnie w ramach programu „Młodzież w działaniu” wolontariusze z całej Europy realizują w fundacji projekt Wolontariatu Europejskiego pt. „Najlepsze kasztany są na ulicy Północnej” – część 3. W tym roku, który nota bene jest Europejskim Rokiem Wolontariatu, postanowili zrealizować projekt z udziałem więźniów.

– Już nie raz przychodziło nam na myśl, aby pracujących u nas wolontariuszy z więzienia włączyć w inne, poza „budowlanymi” formy działania. Teraz chcemy to zrealizować. Pojechaliśmy, ze wszystkimi naszymi zagranicznymi wolontariuszami, do Zakładu Karnego w Gdańsku Przeróbce. Zaproponowaliśmy nasze pomysły, które zostały życzliwie przyjęte przez dyrekcję więzienia. I będziemy je realizować – dodaje Joanna Kania.

Na zakończenie warsztatów skazani przygotowali krótkie przedstawienie teatralne, które było owocem ich udziału w warsztatach. Zorganizowali także wystawę prac plastycznych, które zostały wyeksponowane w więziennej świetlicy. Będzie można je zobaczyć także w siedzibie fundacji, planowane są kolejne miejsca ekspozycji.
